Who is this course for?

This NVQ is aimed at people who work in a warehouse environment whose job role may involve processing orders, the dispatching of goods, customer interaction and in some cases, dealing with financial transactions. It is available to anyone who is aged 19 – 65 and in employment. 

An NVQ is a practical, work-based qualification that is recognised by employers throughout the UK. An NVQ will enable employees to develop and improve their skills whilst allowing employers to prove competency in their workforce.

Depending on eligibility, there may be funding available to help or cover the costs and fees of the NVQ.
 

Unit content

The candidate is required to complete the two mandatory assessment routes plus six optional assessment routes.

  • Maintain health, safety and security in logistics operations
  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues in logistics Operations
  • Provide customers with information and advice on goods and services
  • Operate equipment to perform work requirements
  • Move goods in logistics facilities
  • Receive goods from deliveries
  • Place goods in storage
  • Maintain the safety and quality of goods
  • Maintain the safety of hazardous goods and materials
  • Maintain hygiene standards in handling and storing goods
  • Process orders for dispatch to customers
  • Assemble orders for dispatch
  • Dispatch goods for delivery
  • Process returned goods
  • Sort goods and materials for recycling
  • Manage the receipt, storage, or dispatch of goods
  • Audit stock levels and stock records
